Climate Change Committee to hold webinars on UK Climate Change Risk Assessment

Action to improve the nation’s resilience is failing to keep pace with the impacts of a warming planet and increasing climate risks facing the UK. That is the conclusion of a comprehensive independent assessment led by the Climate Change Committee (CCC) which considered a catalogue of risks and opportunities affecting every aspect of life in the UK.

The Adaptation Committee’s Independent Assessment of UK Climate Risk sets out the priority climate change risks and opportunities for the UK. The report draws on an extensive programme of analysis, consultation and consideration by the Committee involving over 450 people, 130 organisations and more than 1,500 pages of evidence and analysis.

In support of this advice report, the CCC have created a dedicated website www.ukclimaterisk.org to host all of the outputs from the UK Climate Risk Independent Assessment (CCRA3), including:

The UK Climate Risk – State of the Nation event series delves into the Independent Assessment of UK Climate Risk, focusing on: key sectors exposed to priority risks, important players in responding to climate risk, and some of the key challenges raised in the assessment.
