In order to address complexity, uncertainty and high decision stakes which characterise climate change adaptation and resilience building, much of the activity funded under the UK Climate Resilience Programme will not fit only within one of the three themes. We envisage much of the work spanning two, if not all three themes – for instance, some of the climate services will draw directly on the research focused on improving risk quantification and understanding barriers to adaptation.
